Short and Berg earn All American honors at Fargo National Championships

Quayin takes 1st and Berg places 8th

After 5 days in Fargo, 2 Simley wrestlers came out with a "stop sign" and the right to call themselves a Fargo All American.  Other SImley wrestlers had strong showings while trudging through the tournaments and beating some high level opponents.

Cael Berg earned his honors through the Greco tournament wrestling to the quarter finals, before dropping down to the consolation side of the bracket.  He then had a match with Tristan Farnsworth from Utah to jump into the final 8 wrestlers.  With 3 gut wrenches and a push out, Cael won the math and moved on to All American status.

Quayin Short had an incredible Freestyle tournament From Saturday to Monday winning 6 straight matches to become the Cadet Freestyle National Champion at 160 pounds.  In the semifinals, he beat the #12 ranked wrestler in the nation 5-3.  Moving on to the finals, he dominated Connor O'Neil 10-0 with a powerful performance finding himself at the top of the podium and having the incredible honor of Fargo Champion.
