Above are the weekends for both Quayin Short and Gavin Nelson, who brought home both Freestyle and Greco state championships while wrestling at Kids/Cadets state at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.  The boys are among the few in the state that won the state tournament in all three styles this year; Greco, Freestyle, and Folkstyle.  

While controlling every match they competed in this weekend, they capped a season of state competition by dominating their opponents an proving their place in the state as elite.  Q and Gavin will continue their summer with regional, national, and possible world competition.

Other wrestlers in the tournament were Ruben Saldivar (3rd in Schoolboy, Freestyle) and Irvin Weinrich (1st in Bantam, both styles), and Crew Roach
