Cadet world champion Daniel Kerkvliet has changed his plans and decommitted from the University of Minnesota.

The No. 3-ranked prospect for the class of 2019 originally pledged to wrestle in his home state for the Golden Gophers back in October 2016.

Many speculated that Kerkvliet would be a career 285 in college, which would put him and fellow Minnesota commit Gable Steveson, a three-time world champion, in the same spot for several years. Whether this is the reason for the change or not is pure speculation.

HOLY UPDATE, BATMAN:
Kerkvliet has committed to wrestle for Oklahoma State. This is a huge get for the Cowboys, who are in need of a long-term solution at 285. Kerkvliet's neutral arsenal and furious pace will be a great match for the Cowboy's style. While success was likely assured for Kerkvliet at Minnesota, the surety of a starting spot plus everything that the Oklahoma State room has to offer makes this a great fit for both the athlete and school.
