2011 State Class AA Champions
Simley - 2011 State Class AA Champions The Simley Spartans won their fourth consecutive State Class AA Team Wrestling Championship, Simley defeated Scott West 39-16 in the championship match. Simley defeated Grand Rapids in the quarterfinals 56-7; and Foley in the semifinals 52-3 to advance to the championship match. Simley finished the season with a dual meet record of 31-2.

Simley Wrestlers Win Fourth Consecutive Class AA Crown
A host of Spartans reach for the state championship trophy and hold up four fingers, signifying four straight Class AA team titles.
As the Simley wrestling team proudly hoisting the Class AA championship plaque on Thursday, each team member raised up four fingers to signify its importance.

The Spartans picked up their fourth straight title with a 39-16 win over Scott West at the Xcel Energy Center, and they couldn't help but enjoy the moment.

"This is the fourth time," senior Matt Kruse said. "It's awesome."

Simley Finishes Season Ranked #6 in the Nation
Simley finished the 2010-10 season as the #6 ranked high school wrestling team in the nation, according to the Amateur Wrestling News - Prep 40
2011 Section 4AA Team Champions
Simley - 2011 Section 4AA Team Champions Simley won the Section 4AA team championship by defeating Mahtomedi 67-9 in the finals. Simley defeated St. Croix Lutheran 81-0 in the quarterfinals, and defeated St. Paul Johnson 63-6 in the semifinals. Simley will compete in the Class AA State Team Tournament on Thursday, March 3rd at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Simley Wrestlers Crown Nine Conference Champions, Take Team Title
Pedro DeLao of Simley made short work of Tartan's Tyler Kogler at 119 pounds, pinning his man in just 19 seconds.
Simley High School's star-studded wrestling team rolled through the rest of the Classic Suburban Conference Saturday at Richfield High School, easily winning the conference tournament.

The Spartans crowned nine champions and added two seconds and three thirds to dominate the competition.

Simley Wins Swalla Duals
Simley won the Swalla Duals on Saturday, January 29th in Kasson-Mantorville. Simley won pool A by defeating Stewartville 55-12. In the championship bracket; Simley defeated Zumbrota-Mazeppa 55-15, and defeated Kasson-Mantorville by the score of 41-21.
Top-ranked Simley Wrestlers Roll Over Visiting Henry Sibley
Nick Wanzek goes for the takedown against Sibley's wrestler Rashad Kennedy at 145 pounds. Wanzek controlled the match in a 9-1 triumph.
Top-ranked Simley High School won 11 of 14 matches over visiting Henry Sibley High School to claim its 10th consecutive Classic Suburban Conference wrestling crown Friday.

Simley, the three-time defending Class AA state champion, outmuscled a good Henry Sibley squad 51-15 in the matchup at Inver Grove Heights. The Spartans dominated the lower weights, rolling to a 22-0 lead after the first four matches.

Simley Places 3rd at The Clash 9 National High School Wrestling Duals
Simley won their bracket on day one defeating Baylor (Tennessee) 45-15, defeating Hastings 49-9, and defeating Waverly-Shell Rock (Iowa) 34-28. This advanced Simley to the championship bracket on day two. In the championship bracket; Simley lost to Brandon (Florida) 40-23, lost to Apple Valley 42-20, then defeated Carl Sandburg (Illinois) 41-16.

Simley finished 3rd out of 32 teams.

2010 State Class AA Team Champions
Simley won their third consecutive State Class AA Team Wrestling championship when they beat Foley by the score of 34-17. Simley defeated Totino-Grace in the quarterfinals 61-6, and Milaca/Faith Christian in the semifinals 42-14 to advance to the championship match. Simley finished the season 29-2 and ranked #12 in the country.

Simley went 2-0 on day one defeating Owatonna 58-13, and Waverly-Shell Rock (Iowa) 60-7 to advance to the championship bracket on day two. In the championship bracket; Simley lost to Apple Valley 32-20, defeated Montini Catholic (Illinois) 29-26, and lost to Wisconsin Rapids 29-27.
